Prasad Chalasani, M.D.
Founder & President, MedTechMD Inc.
Prasad Chalasani, M.D. is a board-certified surgeon and digital health innovator with a career spanning clinical medicine, public health technologyand renewable energy leadership. He trained in General Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and in Vascular Surgery at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg General Hospital, Canada and practiced for more than three decades across teaching and community hospitals in New York and Long Island.
As Founder and President of MedTechMD Inc., Dr. Chalasani leads the development of advanced digital health platforms that strengthen interoperability, chronic care management and patient directed data exchange. His work includes blockchain based Personal Health Records, FHIR enabled data sharing tools, AI supported clinical applications and remote monitoring solutions designed to improve access and outcomes for rural and underserved populations.
Dr. Chalasani has presented innovative health technology solutions to national agencies, including a blockchain based Personal Health Record demonstrated to ONC/HHS, which received an award certificate. His work has also been recognized in industry competitions, including selection as a finalist in the Motorola Hackathon for smartphone based health transformation.
During the COVID19 pandemic, he developed a suite of digital tools, symptom tracking systems, triage and isolation zone algorithms, pandemic surveillance dashboards and telemedicine workflows - to support public health response and clinical decision-making.
He is currently advancing technologies aligned with the CMS ACCESS Model (Accelerating Chronic Care Effective Scalable Solutions), including a Consumer Directed Exchange (CDE) platform and an IAS App (Individual Access Services Provider) to enable secure credentialing and nationwide interoperability through QHIN networks under TEFCA.
Earlier in his career, Dr. Chalasani also served as President of a solar energy company in Ottawa, Canada, leading early initiatives in renewable energy commercialization.
Across all phases of his work, Dr. Chalasani remains committed to health equity, rural care transformation and patient centered data access, bringing together clinical experience, technological innovations and a lifelong dedication to public service.
